Dr. Virgil Askren, District Superintendent
 
Dr. Virgil Askren and his wife Judy joined the Colorado District in July 2021. Previously, he served as District Superintendent of the South Arkansas District 2018-2021, senior pastor of Bend Church of the Nazarene in Bend, Oregon for 14+ years. He has a Doctor of Ministry from Western Seminary. Virgil enjoys CrossFit, hiking, and spending time with his Cairn Terrier, Tavish. The Askrens have two grown daughters and two wonderful sons-in-law.
 
 
 
 
 

 

 
 
 

Dr. Kevin Compton, Assistant District Superintendent & District Secretary

 
Dr. Compton has served as our Assistant District Superintendent since 2013.
He previously served the Colorado District as a church consultant and was the Associate Pastor at Eastborough Church of the Nazarene in Colorado Springs.
Kevin holds a BA in Pastoral Ministry and Christian Counseling from Nazarene Bible College, an MA in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. Dr. Compton was ordained on the Colorado District.
He and his wife Linda currently reside in Colorado Springs. Their son & his family also live in Colorado Springs. The entire family loves a good trip to the mountains, which usually includes ATVs and a stop at the target range.  Dr. Compton enjoys reading on the topics of leadership and the integration of psychology and theology.
 
 
 
Linda Compton, Colorado District Administrative Assistant
 
Linda Compton began serving as our District Admin Assistant in 2016.  She holds a B.A. in Christian Counseling from Nazarene Bible College.  Linda is the wife of our Assistant District Superintendent, Dr Kevin Compton.  She and Kevin have one son, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, and a grand-dog.  Linda enjoys trips to the mountains, Ancestry, learning the world of IT, & watching cooking shows.
