A. EDUCATIONAL PATHS TO MINISTERIAL ORDINATION
The Colorado District Church of the Nazarene subscribes to the Sourcebook for Ministerial
Development, published by the Pastoral Ministries - Church of the Nazarene. Choices for
ministerial preparation are available to those pursuing preparation for God’s call to ministry.
These alternatives allow a more flexible approach to prepare ministers. Although Nazarene
educational institutions are the primary agencies for preparing Nazarene ministers and Christian
workers, the Colorado District recognizes the need for alternative training methods. See par.
437.0 of the Sourcebook and the following for details of these alternatives.

C. Registration with The Ministry Board
Every local licensed person must register with the Board of Ministerial Studies by filling out the
“Application For Registration” available from your pastor or the Secretary of the Board of
Ministerial Studies. No fee is required for this registration. This registration is required for all
local and district licensees regardless of the mode of study.

E. DIRECTED STUDIES PROGRAM
The Directed Studies Program will be administered by the Colorado District Ministerial Studies
Board. The Sourcebook for Ministerial Development will be the cognizant authority for the
Program (see par. 438.0 and following for details).
