Examining Our Christian Heritage 1 2020

“Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat its mistakes.”

To remain relevant in ministry, we must adapt to changing culture around us by identifying historical shifts. But what happens when the Church stops being a salt and light influence in culture and instead becomes a product of it? How do we present an unchanging and understandable Gospel message, that developed in an Ancient context, to a contemporary audience? The study of the history of the Christian movement helps us answer these questions for ourselves, and for those we minister to, and allows us to remain grounded in the historical faith so we accurately identify as Christian, Holiness and Missional.

This class will be taught by Rev. Scott Simons at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene on Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30, and June 12 and 13.
