Telling the Old Testament Story of God

This course serves as an introductory survey of the Old Testament Scriptures, with particular emphasis on the cultural and historical background and the content and application of the text of the Torah, Prophets and Writings of the Hebrew Bible. Specific attention will be given to overarching themes of God’s actions, covenant, and relationship with the people of Israel, and how these events foreshadow the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and the interaction of the Holy Spirit with the Church today. The course is meant to prepare students for teaching, preaching and counseling ministry in the contemporary context.

This course is February 21/22 and February 28/29 and is taught by Rev. Scott Simons. It will be held at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene.
