District NDI Adult Ministry – Colorado District Church of the Nazarene

Our Mission – The mission of the Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI) Adult Ministry is to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) to adults in preparation for a lifelong journey of being and making Christlike disciples on the Colorado District.

Our Purpose – Likewise, the purpose of the Adult NDI Ministry for the Colorado District is to assist local churches in:

– Reaching non-believers for Jesus

– Establishing new believers in their faith in Christ

– Walking with believers to a fully surrendered, heart-cleansed, fruit-bearing, and Spirit-filled life.

Our Method – How will we accomplish our mission and purpose? Primarily, it is our desire and purpose to first equip you with resources from across the spectrum of the Church of the Nazarene that are first, biblically based; second, culturally relevant and third, easily accessible.

Biblically based – It is paramount, and most likely, a “given,” that discipleship training and equipping must be solely based on what Jesus modeled and taught about discipleship in the Holy Scriptures. The Bible, God’s Holy Word, will be the foundation for all adult NDI resources on the Colorado District.

Culturally relevant – There are many people in our world today that literally have zero-to-little exposure to the church and/or what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Recently, at one of our churches in Colorado, a young adult walked into the foyer of the church and asked, “so, what goes on here?” This is a cultural indicator that many people just don’t know the purpose or what the church is for, let alone how to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. Therefore, culturally relevant means equipping you and your church with resources that you can “wrap around the shoulders” of people who have no idea who Jesus is, what the church is for, how to receive the gift of salvation, or how to organize their life so that it reflects Christ-likeness.

Easy Access to Resources – It is the intention of the Colorado District Adult NDI to promote and make easily accessible a multitude of biblically-sound discipleship resources. Most often, this will be made available in a digital format, (i.e., websites, ebooks), etc. These resources will be posted on this page and the Colorado District Facebook page.
